Temporal analysis of polarimetric and coherence over Tropiscat data

چکیده
This papers deals with ground experiments related to the future spaceborne BIOMASS mission for global forest biomass estimation. In the next, we present quickly the TropiScat campaign in French Guiana supported by the ESA and the CNES. The main aim of this campaign is to acquire a long term data acquisition that allows to estimate the temporal decorrelation and the radiometric signal of the tropical forest. The final data are calibrated in relative. Three months of data are exploited in terms of coherence and polarimetric intensity. The coherence exhibits daily cycles in period without rain but these cycles are perturbed by rain. Over the full period, the coherence is quantified showing a good behaviour. The intensities exhibit also this daily cycle but present a high stability over the full period.

Three-stage inversion improvement for forest height estimation using dual-PolInSAR data
This paper addresses an algorithm for forest height estimation using single frequency single baseline dual polarization radar interferometry data. The proposed method is based on a physical two layer volume over ground model and is represented using polarimetric synthetic aperture radar interferometry (PolInSAR) technique. The presented algorithm provides the opportunity to take advantages of t...
متن کاملShip Detection Using Polarimetric Radarsat-2 Data and Multi-dimensional Coherent Time-frequency Analysis
A polarimetric coherent Time-Frequency (TF) decomposition approach for ship detection is proposed in this paper. At first, the PolSAR data are decomposed in azimuth direction, range direction only or in both directions. Then a novel statistical descriptor called polarimetric TF coherence indicator, is applied to detect maritime targets in different environments. By using polarimetric RadarSat2 ...
متن کاملImprovement of Biomass Estimation in Forest Areas based on Polarimetric Parameters Optimization of SETHI airborne Data using Particle Swarm Optimization Method
Estimation of forest biomass has received much attention in recent decades. Airborne and spaceborne (SAR) have a great potential to quantify biomass and structural diversity because of its penetration capability. Polarizations are important elements in SAR systems due to sensitivity of them to backscattering mechanisms and can be useful to estimate biomass. Full Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture ...
متن کاملOptimum Ensemble Classification for Fully Polarimetric SAR Data Using Global-Local Classification Approach
In this paper, a proposed ensemble classification for fully polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) data using a global-local classification approach is presented. In the first step, to perform the global classification, the training feature space is divided into a specified number of clusters. In the next step to carry out the local classification over each of these clusters, which cont...
متن کاملShip Discrimination Using Polarimetric SAR Data and Coherent Time-Frequency Analysis
This paper presents a new approach for the discrimination of ship responses using polarimetric SAR (PolSAR) data. The PolSAR multidimensional information is analyzed using a linear Time-Frequency (TF) decomposition approach, which permits to describe the polarimetric behavior of a ship and its background area for different azimuthal angles of observation and frequencies of illumination. This pa...
